The Tinker

The Tinker is my solo entry for the next Cloudscape book, as mentioned below. At 12 pages, it’s the longest thing that I’ve ever published, and was a real education in terms of story and production pacing. Many of you have probably already seen it (it went up with the new site design), but I’m giving it it’s own post so that there’s a place for comments.

Also, here’s an early concept sketch of Camden:

The Invaders

Here’s a two-page story that I did a while back with artist Jonathon Dalton. It was for a video game comic compilation that should be available for purchase soon.

Exploded View Cover

As I’ve mentioned before, Cloudscape comics is releasing a new book next month. The title is “Exploded View”, and it is stuffed to bursting with awesome science fiction comics (including the Tinker and Replacement Parts). I’ll be posting more about it later, but here’s a preview of the cover image by Camilla d’Errico:

Here’s the first page of “Embedded”. Barring major script revisions, this one’s going to be 14 pages long – I’ll post new pages each week as I finish them.

Enjoy!

The Last SCP

In case you missed it when it was on the cloudscape site, here’s the long-lost last SCP strip:

New Site!

Hi! I was the author of the webcomic Simulated Comic Product. I had a pretty good run – starting from stick figures in 2005 and ending up with a moderately popular and moderately well-drawn strip in 2009. After four years, however, I had gotten all that I wanted out of the strip, so I shut it down. Gag strips are fun to write, but you eventually run out of jokes.

I’m done with gags, but I’m not done with comics. I’m going to write stories! With characters! And plots!!

I’ve posted the full run of SCP on this site, as well as some stories that I’ve done over the years. Starting next week I’ll be posting about a page of comics per week. I’ve got a couple of stories worked out, each of which will be about 10 pages long. There will be science fiction, and horror. Hence, Robot and Ghost.

Watch for the premiere of the first story “Embedded” next week! In the meantime, feel free to explore the archives – there are a couple of stories there that haven’t previously been posted online.
